Jesse G. Sill photographs collection [graphic], circa 1915-1976.

Photographs and negatives taken and collected by Jesse G. Sill, a newsreel photographer from Portland, Or. who was the first to set up a motion picture camera on a mountain on Mount Adams in 1914 and the first to take an aerial motion picture of Mount Hood, in 1925. Subjects include the Pendelton Round-Up; Sill's pioneering boat trip down the Salmon River with a motion picture camera in 1915; Sill and other photographers transporting and setting up camera equipment, as well as filming, in various locations; newsreel scenes and theatrical stills; and portraits of Sill. Also includes clippings and other background material, as well as safety film negatives.

Unprocessed collection: Approx 2.0 cubic feet (1 box, 1 oversize box, and 2 oversize folders of photographs and safety film negatives; 4 boxes of nitrate negatives).
